 ➤ find the missing numbers in the sums involving addition & subtraction. 

Using the Properties of Addition & Subtraction, we can find the missing numbers.

Let's start Q2 of Ex-4.4 (page no.49)

Q2: (a) 82461 + ________ = 99876

From the above we can see that, Sum of the numbers and one addend is given.
To find the other addend, the formula is:

The other number (addend) = Sum - the number given
                                                = 99876 - 82461 = _________.

(b) 740928 - __________ = 420927.

In the above given question, we can see that: Minuend (bigger number) and Difference are given.
To find the Subtrahend (smaller number), the formula is:

Subtrahend = Minuend - Difference
                     = 740928 - 420927 = __________.

                                    -   4 2 0 9 2 7   (subtract it on your own).


(c) _________ - 624612 = 240891.

In the given question, we can see that: subtrahend (smaller number) and Difference are given.
To find the Minuend (bigger number), the formula is:

Minuend =   Subtrahend + Difference
                =   624612 + 240891 = ___________.
