Now, we will start Ex-3.3 (page no.40)
Q2: A farmer plants 635 rice plants in one row. How many plants are there in the field if there are 503 rows?
Answer:[Hint: How many plants are there means to find for more ...so we will multiply]
Number of Rice plants planted in a row = 635
Number of Rice plants planted in 503 rows = 635 x 503
= 3,19,405
Q3: 6325 coconuts can be loaded in a truck. How many coconuts are there in all if there are 26 such trucks?
Answer: [Hint: How many coconuts are there in all means to multiply]
Number of coconuts can be loaded in a truck = 6325
Number of coconuts can be loaded in 26 trucks = 6325 x 26
= 1,64,450
HOMEWORK
Q5: The Social Forestry Department decided to plant trees along a highway. If 92 trees are to be planted along 1 kilometre, how many saplings(baby plants) will be required if the highway is 310 km long?
[Hint: In 1 km →92 trees, then in 310 km→ will be more.
So, multiply]
