Multiplication & Division (Ex-3.3 Q1 & Q4)
GOOD MORNING STUDENTS! 😊😊
Welcome back!!
By the end of the class you will be able to:
➤comprehend a word problem.
➤use the concept of division to solve the problem.
Let's first watch a video to understand the word problems based on DIVISION , click on the link -https://youtu.be/cT-dxQ2clz8
Let's start Ex-3.3 (page no.40)
Q1: In a confectionery, 75 toffees are packed in a packet. How many packets can be made if there are 64275 toffees?
Solution: [Hint: How many packets can be made means we are packing the toffees or making the groups of toffees in different packets. So, we need to divide]
Total number of toffees = 64275
Number of toffees in a packet = 75
Thus, Number of packets = 64275 ÷ 75
857
75)64275

Therefore, 857 packets can be made to pack 64275 toffees.
Q4: How many drums of capacity 105 litre can be filled with 35070 litre water?
Solution: [Hint:How many drums can be filled means again we are filling the drums with the given quantity....and not increasing the quantity. So, we need to divide.]
Total quantity of water = 35070 litres
Capacity of a drum = 105 litres
Thus, the number of drums can be filled = 35070 ÷ 105
334
105)35070

Therefore, 334 drums can be filled.
That's all for today
