So we learnt about the vegetation and wildlife in Thar already. Have you ever wondered about how the water system works here?
Let's find out....


To solve this problem of water shortage, the government has built the Indira Gandhi Canal. It was known as the Rajasthan Canal earlier.

What is a canal?
canal is a long, man-made strip of water used for irrigation or boat access to a bigger body of 
water.

The Canal provides drinking water and water for irrigation.

** River Luni is the only river of this desert region. It is a seasonal river.**

The crops grown here are...
