By the  end  of the  lesson:-

• You  will learn  how  to  calculate  the product  of  three numbers.
• You  will  be  able to  find the  missing  number  in the  multiplication.

Today  we  continue  with  the  exercise 3.1:-

Q. no 3)  
a)  Find   the  product    of  2891  x  15  x  39


Here  we  apply  Property  no. 2 :-
 The  product  of three numbers  does  not  change  when the  grouping  of the number is  changed.

ie,  ( 2891  x 15 )  x 39  =  2891  x  ( 15  x  39)

we  start  by  multiplying  2891  x  15   and  the  product  will  be  multiplied  by  39.

           15
     14455
     28910   +
     43365

The  product  of  first  two  numbers  is  43365

now  we  multiply  it  by  39

     43365
           39
   390285
 1300950   +
 1691235

Hence  the  final  answer  is  1691235

Similarly  do  (b) 169  x 288  x  59

Q.no 4) Find  the  product  of  the  largest  4- digit  number  and  the  largest  3- digit  number.

  The  largest  4-  digit  number ----> 9999
  The  largest  3-  digit  number ---->    999

  8999100  +
  9989001

The   answer  is 9989001

Q.no  5)  Find  the  missing  digits:-

Step  1:-  

  6  x  5 = 30
  3  is carried  over

Step  2:-
  6  x  6 = 36  
  36  +  3  = 3 9
3  is  carried  over

Step  3:-
 6  x  _  = 21
but  21  =  3 + 18
Therefore  6  x  3  =  18
The  missing  digit  is  3

Step  4:-
We  put  3  in the  missing  gap  and  continue  with the  multiplication  to  get the  rest  of the  numbers.


The  final  result  will  be:
