➤List the causes of accidents that happen due to fire.
Accidents caused by fire can result in serious injury and damage to personal property. These accidents can occur from faulty wiring, defective products,candles, cooking equipments, etc.
But Most fires occur while working in the kitchen or while using electric gadgets.Below are some of the most common causes of house fires, and some tips to take precautions:
➤ Cooking equipment
⟶Pots and pans can overheat and cause a fire very easily if the person cooking gets distracted and leaves cooking unattended.
⟶Always stay in the room, or ask someone to watch your food, when cooking on hotplates.
➤ Electrical equipment
⟶A power point that is overloaded with double adapter plugs can cause a fire from an overuse of electricity.
⟶A power point extension cord can also be a fire hazard if not used appropriately.
⟶So,Get all electric gadgets checked from time to time.

➤ Faulty wiring
⟶Homes with inadequate wiring can cause fires from electrical hazards.
⟶If a crack is seen in the plastic covering of any wire, get it replaced. Some signs to see if you’ve bad wiring are:
*Lights dim if you use another appliance;
*For an appliance to work, you have to disconnect another;
*Fuses blow or trip the circuit frequently.
➤ Flammable liquids
⟶If you have any flammable liquids in the home or garage such as petrol, kerosene or methylated spirits, keep them away from heat sources and check the label before storing.
⟶Be careful when pouring the liquids specially oil in the pan. If oil in the pan catches fire, smother the fire by covering the pan.
➤ Kerosene Stove
⟶ Never keep a kerosene stove on the floor. If it gets knocked over, the oil can get spilled resulting in a fire.
⟶People should not use water to put off the stove as this will spread the fire and can lead to an explosion.
➤ Fire due to Crackers
⟶ Never wear Nylon or other synthetic clothes in the kitchen or while burning Crackers.
